Rep. Berrios and Alderman Colon Host Property Tax Appeal Assessment Workshop

CHICAGO, IL –State Representative Maria A. “Toni” Berrios and Alderman Rey Colon of the 35th Ward are hosting a Property Tax Assessment Appeal Workshop with Cook County Assessor Joseph Berrios on Thursday, September 6, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Logan Square Auditorium, located at 2539 N. Kedzie Suite 15 in Chicago, IL.
“This year, residential properties ofJeffersonTownshipwere reassessed and those reassessment notices were mailed in late August,” Representative Berrios said. “Property owners should review their notices to make sure their reassessment values are fair and accurate, and if not, I encourage them to attend this workshop.”
JeffersonTownshiphas until September 17, 2012 to file an appeal. At the workshop with Representative Berrios and Alderman Colon, property owners will have the opportunity to learn more about the property tax appeal process and will be able to file an appeal with representatives from the Cook County Assessor’s Office.
Attendees must bring their 2012 reassessment notice, their 2011 second-installment property tax bill and a government issued ID (i.e. Driver’s License or State ID).
