April 17th, 2013
CHICAGO, IL – In an effort to stimulate the local economy, state Rep. Maria A. “Toni” Berrios (D-Chicago) is partnering with 31st Ward Alderman Ray Suarez to host a Community Job Fair on Saturday, April 06, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Foreman High School, located at 3235 N. “Many of my constituents are struggling during this tough economy and they are faced with a tough job market,” Berrios said. “This job fair is a way to help bring companies who are hiring to our community and provide job seekers with the assistance they need to be successful.”
The job fair will allow applicants to speak with company recruiters, collect free information on career opportunities and job training, and receive resume writing tips. Employers currently looking to hire new employees will be at the job fair, including companies from various fields such as nursing, transportation and communication.
“The job fair will have private sector companies and government agencies that are looking for quality candidates to fill current job vacancies,” Berrios said. “I encourage local residents to bring plenty of resumes and dress in business attire so they are prepared to meet hiring representatives.”
The job fair is free and open to the public. Registration will be conducted on-site and parking is available. For more information, please contact Rep. Berrios’ constituent service office at (773) 736-3939.
