Berrios, Education Advisory Committee to Meet at Haas Park

CHICAGO – As Illinois continues to discuss ways to reform the state pension systems, state Rep. Maria A. “Toni” Berrios, D-Chicago, will discuss issues affecting schools with local educators and community members at her Education Advisory Committee on Monday, July 15 at 4 p.m. at Haas Park located at 2402 N. Washtenaw Avenue in Chicago.

“Between the school closings in Chicago and reforming Illinois’ pension systems, many of the major issues facing our state and our neighborhoods have a direct impact on schools and hearing from local community members allows me to better represent the district in Springfield,” Berrios said. “From talking to educators at the door and at community events, I know the challenges facing our schools, and it’s critical that I hear the thoughts and concerns of those affected by the decisions made at the state and local level.”
